Proclamation Ceremony to celebrate the new Website
of Ha Long Bay World Natural Heritage
Addressed by Mr. Ngo Van Hung, Head of Ha Long Bay Management Department at the Proclamation Ceremony for the new Website of Ha Long Bay World Natural Heritage.
  Ladies and Gentlemen,
Ha Long Bay has twice been recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage Area for its exceptional scenic beauty and outstanding geological and geomorphic values.
The website of Ha Long Bay, (addressing at: http://halongbay.halong.net.vn) was set up in 2001 by Ha Long Bay Management Department and has so far received over ten thousand readers.
Many people have shared with us their keen interest, comments, praises and opinions following the initial success of the website. However, we believe that the original website has not met all the readers’ needs.
To satisfy readers’ understanding and knowledge of WHS Ha Long Bay, Ha Long Bay Management Department has decided to upgrade the Ha Long Bay Website, with the following aims:

To provide more information about the natural conditions, great values and the potential of Ha Long Bay World Natural Heritage.

To raise issues regarding the management, conservation and promotion of Ha Long Bay's values since its recognition as a World Natural Heritage Site.

To promote Ha Long Bay World Natural Heritage as: a marvelous destination for visitors worldwide; a reliable venue for scientists, researchers, economists and investors to come to; and as a center for traditional education and dissemination of scientific knowledge.
